Frequently Asked Questions
Medical weight management may be appropriate for adults who are struggling with their weight despite lifestyle efforts or who have weight-related health concerns. Because these medications aren’t right for everyone, RAW will evaluate your individual health history and determine whether treatment is appropriate.
RAW currently offers sublingual semaglutide and injectable tirzepatide for eligible patients. Your provider will review your health history, goals, medications, and other factors to determine whether one of these treatments may be appropriate for you.
These medications work on hormone pathways involved in appetite and metabolism. They can help patients feel fuller for longer and reduce hunger and food cravings, which may make it easier to follow a calorie-controlled eating plan.
Your provider will discuss your weight-management history, health conditions, medications, lifestyle, goals, and other relevant factors. If medication is appropriate, you’ll receive information about the treatment, instruction and your first month of medication. Your provider will also discuss dosing, potential side effects, and follow-up care.
Your cost of treatment is unique to your personalized treatment plan. Your provider will present you with options during your weight management consult. Typically, patients pay around $150 per month.
We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance.
Patients return every 4 weeks to allow the provider to assess your progress and adjust your treatment plan if necessary.
If prescribed injections, you will self-inject a small needle in the soft tissue area of your underarm or belly once a week. An under the tongue medication is also an option for those very opposed to self-injection.
